“Angelyn, do you know about Non-Compartmental Analysis?”

I got to the office late in the afternoon today, due to over indulge in my long weekend. Shhhh… ๐Ÿ˜œ

Everyone is busy with their lab and nobody is in the offices, except Le Supervisor. He opened the door for me, and got back to his concentration on an article. ๐Ÿ“ƒ

Not wanting to interrupt him, I got to my desk quietly and started working on my presentation.

He turned over: “Angelyn, do you know about Non-Compartmental Analysis (NCA) for pharmacokinetics?”

“Hmmmm, I am not very sure. Why?”, started searching on that…

“I have a deadline today for a paper on that and I couldn’t tell the different between Compartmental Analysis (CA) and Non-Compartmental Analysis…”, he appeared exhausted ๐Ÿ˜ต. So I try to read up with the intention to lighten his burden.

I spent around 30 minutes discussing with him on NCA and CA (which I just learnt few minutes before ๐Ÿ˜œ).

“What is AUMC? Why do we need AUMC? How to calculate it? What is ฮปz? Is it the same as Kcl? Kc? How do they get apparent total body clearance? Blar3…”, we discussed like pharmacologists, you know, those failed ones. ๐Ÿ˜œ

After the discussion, I got back to my desk fixing and improving his lappy while doing my data analysis.

He checked and made sure no one else is around (in the room, next door, and on the corridor), and came to me: “*You know I have a problem during the weekends… on Saturday blar3… Sunday morning blar3…”

Me, listening ๐Ÿ˜ฎ: “Oh, I’m sorry to hear that. I thought you enjoyed your weekend very much.”

“No, I didn’t. It was so bad. *On Monday I got so upset blar3… and now I have a headache… ๐Ÿ˜ž”

“Oh, poor you. You should have a rest, go home early and don’t work too hard. ๐Ÿ˜Š”

“I got so mad, I shouted! Now the situation is getting worse…”

The empathetic me ๐Ÿ˜ฃ: “Oh, I can imagine it must be really driving you crazy. Poor you….. Hahahaha!”, and I suddenly burst into laughter. LOL!!!

I can imagine how bad the situation was when he got mad, because I know his temper. I felt sorry but couldn’t help myself to laugh ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ because sometimes he got mad at silly simple things that could never be issues to me, so I chortled. ๐Ÿ˜‚

That somehow drives him even down. ๐Ÿ˜… I am sorry, but my laugh was by reflex action. Hahahahaha!!! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

He explained to me what drove him crazy, and I listened carefully while giving him some constructive suggestions to fix it. You know, some psychological talks. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I spent 45 minutes or so listening to his complaints and soothing his disturbed soul.

“Yes, yes, I understand how you felt… I’m sorry to know that… I hope things get better soon… Oh, please don’t think like that… Time dissolves all problems… Let go of it… Don’t worry… blar3…” โ†I can’t believe I could say so many positive phrases to the same person in a day. I break my own record! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

He is fine now and going home with a smile, after we spent hours talking about that in the office. Phew….

Now, I suspect “Angelyn, do you know about Non-Compartmental Analysis?” was the prologue, what he actually needed was a psychological counseling and some positive boosters. ๐Ÿ˜œ

* part of the conversation was concealed to conserve the privacy of our privy. ย ๐Ÿ˜œ
